Pottery Identification Wiki

https://www.ncpedia.org/ is an excellent resource for information about North Carolina pottery and potters, unfortunately, it is about all things North Carolina, so I am not sure what landing page to send you to. This, at least, is a nice general article that links you to some others: https://www.ncpedia.org/pottery

The Mint Museum is also a great resource for North Carolina pottery: http://ncpottery.mintmuseum.org/library

The Marks Project tries, they really do, but their restrictions hurt their usefulness oftentimes. They have a restriction on years and they do not allow submissions from collectors, just artists, as such it is a very incomplete resource.

Here's a bizarre way to do it that is sometimes helpful: https://www.cajunc.com/pottery-marks but also they have some super useful information as sort of a primer: https://www.cajunc.com/art-american-pottery

The Studio Pottery Identification group on Facebook is also great, but searching the archives is difficult thanks to the limitations of the Facebook search function and their desire to show you the "best" results rather than the complete results.

http://studiopottery.com is an occasional help. They are even exhaustive on some brands.

Google search, google image search, etsy and ebay search are your friends, but information can be somewhat ephemeral, and while the internet archive archives many web pages that disappear they are really not great at archiving dynamic pages like the kinds where you'll find pottery listings.

If I thought there was a silver bullet reference site for pottery identification, I wouldn't have had to create this one. We won't be that for a long time, and not wiithout your help, so go ahead and add some information, even if it's just a link to a better site than this!
