Shelton was a pottery studio in Seagrove, North Carolina founded in 1988. Shelton was owned by (and i think founded by) Mitchell Shelton, son of Virginia Shelton, and an eighth generation potter related to both the King and Cole pottery families.
Pottery signed VS would have been by Virginia Shelton, who had previously been one of the three main potters at the JB Cole pottery shop (along with Waymon and Nell). Pottery signed RA would have been by Robin Auman, Virginia's daughter. I presume you would not find pottery signed by Linda Shelton Potts (another daughter of Virginia) as she has her own pottery.
Shelton's is said (by the Remarkable Potters of Seagrove) to have continued many of the shapes and colors of the JB Cole shop when it closed.
